Chess In Libraries Mixer 8/7/23

On Monday, August 7th, Impact Chess hosted a “Chess in Libraries” Mixer at the Princeton Public Library Community Room. The goal of the event was to introduce the Impact Chess library model to potential partners and sponsors. Invitees included Impact Chess volunteers, PPL staff, local residents, and all librarians throughout the state of New Jersey. With nearly a dozen attendees, Eric Wu, President, along with Joanna Hou, Director of Operations, presented experience and learnings from the Impact Chess x Princeton Public Library partnership. After some socializing and exchanging of information, Eric played blindfold chess with an attendee. Impact Chess was able to connect with multiple NJ libraries for future programs, and many absent libraries also reached out to Impact Chess digitally after seeing the invite.
